Rotary Club: Carlsbad Project Title: TecateSmiles Again 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Instrumentation from the MG 3960 were delivered, packaged into sterile bundles and used in the surgical correction of 12 children afflicted with Facial Cleft Deformities through the Partnership Program of Rotary Carlsbad, Rotary Tecate Mexico, and Smiles International Foundation Tecate-Smiles Again project in November 2021. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 250 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The patients themselves and their families who have been without support and possibilities for Dentofacial Deformity care. This project is ongoing and thus, hundreds more will benefit from the MG instrumentation augmentation for the equipment needs of this clinic. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 20 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. 10 members associated with the Rotary Club of Tecate provided transportation and food for the patients as well as hosted a Rotary Carne Asada for the surgical team. The Rotaract Club of Tecate provided the hands to set up food preparation for the patients and families during the clinic. Several Rotarians of the Carlsbad, CA club worked with the Smiles Action Volunteer Group, a band of grownup previous California Rotaract young adults, to setup and take-down the hospital equipment. Several of the Smiles International Foundation's Nurses, Surgeons, and Anesthesia are Rotarians worked in Surgery 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Smiles International Foundation volunteers, some of which are routine Rotary Volunteers, provided non-paid professional anesthesia, surgery, nursing and administrative patient care. 7. Income
