Rotary Club: La Mesa Project Title: Hope for the Homeless 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Journey Church in La Mesa operates a ministry called Hope for the Homeless where volunteers make over 100 meals per week and distribute them to individuals experiencing homelessness. In addition, the program supplies clothing and food relief to underserved individuals and provides meals to the City of La Mesa Homeless Outreach team to take with them to contact those who are unhoused. The funds donated assisted in purchasing the supplies for the meals. 2. How many people benefited from this project? Approximately 500 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The beneficiaries of Journey Churches’ program were individuals who are experiencing homelessness who were provided high protein meals. In addition, the program volunteers experienced fellowship and displayed compassion towards the program recipients. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 500 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. 5. Rotarians volunteered to help make sandwiches meals for the recipients and helped to distribute.
