Rotary Club: College Project Title: Midnight Sun Pollinators Exhib 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The project coordinator installed ten pollinator displays in the Georgeson Botanical Garden and produced a brochure, map, and scavenger hunt to increase awareness of the importance of pollinators. 2. How many people benefited from this project? Thousands of people of all ages visit the garden and will view this project. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Our community and its visitors will benefit from this project because it increases awareness of the importance of pollinators in our daily life. As more people face food insecurity it is important to understand the role pollinators play in our food production, the importance of preserving and increasing their habitat. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 5 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. We met in the garden, discussed potential project with garden manager, met as a board to discuss importance of pollinators and the viability of the project, and visited the garden during and after the installation. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? The City of Fairbanks provided funding, the Soil & Water Conservation District provided expertise, and the Smithsonian Institute provided sign content. 7. Income
