Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Wasilla Sunrise Rotary provided a matching grant of $2000 for a scholarship named the Pam Hill Memorial Scholarship . With matching grant of $2000 the total scholarship was $4000. Our fundraiser was selling 300 bouquets of peonies at $25/ 7 flowers of a variety of colors. The fundraiser encompassed the Mat-Su Borough and benefitted a recipient from the Mat-Su Borough school district.

2. How many people benefited from this project? one recipient, Nova Martinez senior graduate Mat-Su Central

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

Nova Martinez a high school senior graduate student from Mat-Su Central studying to become a film director.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 16 participants sold on average 20 bouquets each.

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

Wasilla Sunrise Rotary members participated in the fundraiser that raised the $2000 matching funds by selling bouquets of peonies. The supplier was a local peonies farmer named Sierra Hunsaker, 907 354-5016.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

Palmer Rotary also participated in the fundraiser.
