Rotary Club: La Jolla Sunrise Project Title: Mexican Orphanage Mattresses 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Funding purchased 26 mattresses for 26 children at Casa Hogar, an orphanage in Baja California, Mexico. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 26 orphaned Mexican children 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Basic shelter (bedding) needs. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 1 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Mr Brett Beale (La Jolla Sunrise Past President) coordinated the needs of the orphanage with the Rotary Grant process of La Jolla Sunrise Rotary. He also coordinated District funding and matching funding; purchase / delivery and also verification of mattress delivery 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Vita Hoven is a San Diego based non-profit dedicated to establishing, outfitting and managing orphanages for the underserved Mexican youth. Vita Hoven established the mattress requirement, identified the supplier and facilitated delivery and children appreciation 7. Income
