Rotary Club: San Diego-Paradise Valley Project Title: Disease and Prevention 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The Rotary Club of San Diego-Paradise District Grant funds was used to purchased 30 manual wheelchairs and donated to individuals in need in order to improve their mobility and their quality of life.During the medical mission Jan 3, 2023 -Jan. 23, 2023, these wheelchair were distributed to 5 sites: Olongapo, Dumanjug, Badian, Mindoro and San Pablo, Laguna, Philippines with the help and assistance of the local Rotary Clubs who have screened these individuals/beneficiaries of these wheelchairs, that needed the most. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 30 people 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? There were 30 beneficiaries of these manual wheelchairs. All of them together with the families were so grateful and appreciative. It was so emotional that with their thank you and tears in their eyes, 2 of the members of our club with tears in their eyes have found their "AHA moment". These wheelchairs allows these beneficiaries to be able to improve the quality of life. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 42 Rotarians 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. 1.Assessed and screen persons to qualify for the manual wheelchair. 2.Assisted in the distribution of the wheelchairs. 3.Have the beneficiaries at the medical mission site for the distribution. 6.
