Rotary Club: Poway-Scripps Project Title: Poway Youth in Transition 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? THE YOUTH IN TRANSITION PROGRAM IS PART OF POWAY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT’S LEARNING SUPPORT SERVICES. SCHOOL PLACEMENT · SCHOOL MEALS · SCHOOL CLOTHES · SCHOOL SUPPLIES · TRANSPORTATION · ACADEMIC STUDIES · COUNSELING AND MEDICAL SERVICES THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER PUSD DEPARTMENTS AND LOCAL AGENCIES 2. How many people benefited from this project? Over 200 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Public school children in the Poway Unified School District SERVING HOMELESS FAMILIES BY SEEKING TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO ENROLLMENT, ATTENDANCE, TRANSPORTATION, AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 15 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Several projects including Christmas gifts and wrapping, multiple Grab and Go events where children and their families can obtain needed supplies. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Poway Unified School District Youth in Transition staff provided leadership, planning and organization. 7. Income
