Rotary Club: Escondido Project Title: Escondido Veteran's Day Parade 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The grant funds will be used to support the Veterans Day Parade in Escondido, CA on November 11, 2023. The funds will cover the costs of organizing and promoting the event, as well as expanding participation from veterans organizations, active-duty military units, and local community groups. The parade will be an important opportunity for our community to honor and thank our veterans. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 35 organizations participated in the parade and 2,000 people were in attendance 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The beneficiaries of this project are the American Legion Post #149 in Escondido, CA, and Brother of Six Charities, Inc. These organizations provide important services to veterans and their families and work to preserve and beautify the local community. With the grant funds, the American Legion Post #149 will continue its mission of serving veterans by providing a community center and meeting space, lobbying for veterans' causes, and connecting veterans with Disabled American Veterans. Brother of Six Charities, Inc. will continue its important work of preserving local history and beautifying North County, San Diego. Overall, this project addresses a humanitarian need by providing important services to veterans and their families, as well as contributing to the beautification and preservation of the local community. The grant funds enable these organizations to continue their valuable work and make a positive impact on the lives of those they serve. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 10 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. The Rotarians involved in this project will be contributing in two significant ways: Participation in the parade: The Rotarians will be marching in the Veterans Day Parade, showing their support for the local community and honoring those who have served in the military. Their participation will help to increase awareness and support for the event, and demonstrate their commitment to serving the community. Booth at the after event: The Rotarians will also have a booth at the after-event, which will allow them to connect with the community and promote their organization's mission. This is an opportunity for the Rotarians to engage with the public and showcase their commitment to service and community involvement. In addition to these two examples, as a sponsorship level supporter, the Rotarians will also receive recognition in program materials and along the parade route, and at the closing ceremonies. This will help to increase visibility and awareness of their organization, and demonstrate their commitment to supporting the local community. 6.
