Rotary Club: Carlsbad Project Title: Interfaith Carlsbad & North SD 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Carlsbad Rotary applied for a $3,000 District Grant to pay for the supplies for hygiene kits to be assembled by club members & distribution in the community, for our FY 23-24. The grant was matched by a $3,000 club donation. Supplies were purchased by the club, September through December 2023 and assembled at a member’s home on August 24, 2023 & November 16, 2023; additional items purchased in December to augment the prepared kits (maxi-pads distributed as needed, outside of kits). The club was able to donate 2,000 assembled hygiene kits for use in Carlsbad and throughout SD North County. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 2,000 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? These kits have been deemed as a significant and persistent need by Interfaith Community Services Carlsbad, their network partners and surrounding nonprofit organizations in ongoing outreach to those facing housing insecurity. Homelessness can be a temporary or chronic issue. This project supports the Interfaith Community Services of Carlsbad program to assist in preventing chronic homelessness in Carlsbad and surrounding communities. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 55 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Members participated in the project by reaching out to their community dentists to talk about Rotary, our club and the District project to get donated supplies of toothbrushes and toothpaste. We also invited the local professionals in our community to join us at a meeting to learn more. Members participated in the assembly of each kit at scheduled events throughout the fiscal year. They also participated in delivering the hygiene kits to Interfaith for their outreach work. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Interfaith Community Services Carlsbad, and their network partners, used these hygiene kits in their outreach work. 7. Income
