Rotary Club: Poway-Scripps Project Title: Warrior Bonfire Program 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Supporting a multi-day retreat that incorporates recreational and group therapies this October . This event encompasses activities designed to foster comradery, physical achievements, and an overall healthy mindset. The group is composed of six Purple Hearts, either active duty or non-active duty men and women service members. Activities include fishing, surfing, boating, etc. The event concludes with the Bonfire American Flag Retirement Ceremony in honor of their fallen brothers and sisters. Funds used to help pay the cost of transportation, room, board and activities. Rotary members will provided logistical support for the visiting Purple Heart participants. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 5 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Five Purple Hearts were able to travel from all over the USA and participate in four days of recreational activities. Their time together built personal bonds with each other to help support their mental and physical health. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 18 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. One Rotarian was the host of the entire trip including all transportation and coordination of meals. Other Rotarians donated money and helpled coordinate meals. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Warrior Bonfire Program identified the participants and coordinated travel. 7. Income
