Rotary Club: Coronado Project Title: Limbs of Freedom 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The team went to the Limbs of Freedom Clinic in Ensenda, Mexico twice this year. The team delivered (7) 3D printed Limbs, Scanned an additional (10) patients to be fit during the next clinic, measured (4) new above knee amputees that will be fit next clinic and provided follow up care to (8) individuals. We have had two very successful clinics since last July. 2. How many people benefited from this project? Each clinic benefits 30-40 amputees. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The beneficiaries are the individuals who have lost limbs or were born without limbs. Their life is greatly impacted because their new limbs improve their mobility and enable them to lead a less restricted life. The humanitarian need that was met is the major improvement to the life style of these individuals. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? Approximately 10 Rotarians 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. The Rotarians participate in all areas of the clinic. They assist in measuring the new patients, fitting the amputees that are recieving a new limb and servicing limbs of returning patients. They also participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the clinic. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? The Rotary Club of Coronado is partnering with LIMBER Prosthetics& Orthodics to provide innovatice prosthetic care for our limb recipients in Ensenda, Mexico. 7. Income
