Rotary Club: Escondido Sunrise Project Title: Bikes For Kids 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? We partner with a national organization to provide bicycles to an entire 3rd grade class here in North San Diego County, Escondido. This year we gave out 100 bikes which cost us $96.00 each at Juniper Elementary. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 150 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? An entire 3rd grade class of needy children got bicycles at the Holiday season, and the impact went far beyond the kids. Teachers, parents, and Rotarians all gained from this event. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 30 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. We gathered at the business of one of our members and built the bikes, and then delivered them to the school. we as a club provide part of the funding, but individuals also sponsor the bikes to get to the total that's needed. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Bikes for Kids----they bring the bikes in from China and help distribute them to organizations like Rotary who want to make an impact in young kids lives. They also provide the bikes at a reasonable cost. 7. Income
