Project Title: Regenerative Learning Center


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

This education project was designed to support and help to equip the Regenerative Learning Center (RLC) in Asuom, Ghana. This multi-function learning Center will serve as a training center for farmers and a non-commercial preschool and elementary school. The Rotary Club of Escondido and Fallbrook provided funds to purchase desks,chairs, tables and kitchen equipment for the RLC. The items were purchased in Oct. 2024 and January-February 2025.

2. How many people benefited from this project? There are an estimated 700 local smallholder farmers in the area and 150 children to attend preschool and 200 to elementary classes at RLC.

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

The RLC will be able to provide non-commercial preschool and elementary school, and to train farmers and community leaders on improving farm productivity and income by organic/regenerative methods and to meet with local groups and foreign visitors.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 12 total with both Escondido and Fallbrook Rotary Clubs also

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

Over several years of planning, we met with the leaders of RLC to learn what the needs were and how we could meet part of the requirements. We also had video conferences with members of the Rotary Club of Koforidua New Juaben for input and guidance.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

Rotary Club of Fallbrook, contributed cash and DDF.
