Rotary Club: Rancho Bernardo Sunrise (San Diego) Project Title: Rancho Bernardo Historical Soc 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The Rancho Bernardo Historical Society is a non-profit organization, dedicated to preserving the local history and increasing public awareness of the area through programs and outreach. We preserve Rancho Bernardo's history to connect with those who came before us and those who will follow. At the heart of our mission is the preservation and enhancement of the displays within our museum. This grant allowed us to repair, replace, create, acquire and expand existing artifacts and displays. These enhancements improved our educational programs connecting to all generations. 2. How many people benefited from this project? whole Rancho Bernardo community 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The printing of brochures, flyers and new displays provided new information to the community at large, giving older generations and younger generations new information on the wealth of musical culture available. New info on the many heroes who have lived and influences our citizens through military and public service has also been provided. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? Two 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. These Rotaraians worked on the copy, the design, and the final production of the newsletters, brochures and displays at the museum, as part of the working committee. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Production was accomplished as a committee in coordination with the vendors listed in the document section, the two Rotarians and the Museum committee to bring to completion displays, newsletters, purchase the new equipment listed. 7.
