Rotary Club: Del Mar-Solana Beach Project Title: Traumatized Ukrainian Children 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The Del Mar Solana Beach Rotary Club has assisted Ukrainian refugee families arriving in San Diego. Previous assistance has been in the areas of job searching and temporary housing. The Club members have recognized that the children of these refugee families arrived traumatized from experiencing the war in Ukraine. How can the Club members help these children? It was identified to take them on fun activities to Disneyland. It was anticipated that going to Disneylnd would positively impact the trauma they are experiencing by reducing these feelings. This proved correct, and the children and parents who accompanied the children showed a robust improvement in their feelings and emotions. Please see the comments below from those who went to Disneyland. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 21 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? We received so much positive feedback from parents, and I'd like to share a few heartfelt testimonials. Please see emails sent to the DMSB Rotary On behalf of our entire group, I want to express our sincere gratitude for your incredibly generous sponsorship of our recent Disneyland trip. Thanks to your support, we were able to create lasting memories and provide our children with an experience that was truly magical. "Good day✨ I want to join everything that has been said above🙏 Kristina, Svitlana, and everyone involved in this celebration for our children💫 Thank you so much for these unforgettable emotions and impressions🥰 We were so tired and happy that we left the fireworks and another part of the park for next time 😁" "Good morning, I also want to thank you and the event organizers for the opportunity to experience childhood again and visit a fairytale world. It was an incredibly cool trip, thank you so much ❤️🤩 Looking at some of the photos, I see that we didn't see everything and visit all the attractions 🤪, but we tried to visit as many as we could. Due to the huge size of the 'fairy tale city,' it's probably impossible to see it all. We had a great time, thank you for this opportunity 🥰" "Good morning!🌞 I join everything that has been said above!!! Huge thanks for this opportunity!!! My child's eyes were shining with happiness 🥰 I also had a sea of impressions 🥰👍🤩" These words reflect the deep impact of your generosity, and the joy it brought to everyone involved. The children, as well as their parents, will treasure this experience for a long time. Once again, thank you for making this unforgettable trip a reality. We are deeply appreciative of your continued support and look forward to future collaborations. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 3 5. What did they do?
