Rotary Club: El Cajon Sunset Project Title: Free Medical Clinic 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? A community needs determination was carried out by community health promoters in conjunction with Nguluni level 3 hospital at various villages in the Matungulu and Kathiani sub counties and None- Communicable Diseases were identified as one major hospital admissions and burden. Two community free outreaches were organized. The primary goal of the Free Medical Outreaches were to provide accessible and quality healthcare services Free Medical Camps took place in Dec. 2024 and January 2025 in Machakos, Kenya. 2. How many people benefited from this project? Event 1. 580 residents. Event 2. 1070. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Community members of Kathiani and Kangundo Sub-counties. Transformed lives and communities, the free outreach provided essential health services to those who might not otherwise have access, like general check-ups, vaccinations, health education, and even specialized treatments. Not only did these camps addressed the immediate health needs, but they raised awareness about the importance of regular medical care and preventive health measures. Access to Heathcare services need was met. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 10 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Planned event. Travelled to Kenya to promote rotary. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? One organization came onboard to conducted free eye services and provide glasses.
