Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health
This project will purchase medical equipment for the new Pavillon IV of the CENTRE HOSPITALIER UNIVERSITAIRE MERE ENFANT DE TSARALALANA(CHUMET)in Antananarivo. This is the only children's hospital in the city. More than 300 children per month will benefit from this equipment. The proposed equipment list includes:
SERUM HOLDER, MEDICAL BED, PULSE OXIMETER, 212 LITER STERILIZER, X RAY FILM VIEWER, MULTIPARAMETER MONITOR, MOBILE ANTI X RAY SCREEN, NEBULIZERS, OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR, MANUAL RESUSCIATORS, SPHYGMOMANOMETERS, SYRINGE PUMP, AND DIGITAL SCALES.
The Host Club has identified a local company called HOSPITEC as a potential supplier of the equipment. Upon TRF approval, the Host Club plans to purchase and provide the equipment to CHUMET by the end of 2020.
A 50% deposit has been paid for the project's medical equipment and supplies. Delivery to the hospital will hopefully occur later in 2021.
A recent progress report indicates that 80% of the hospital equipment has been purchased and delivered to CHUMET.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
