Project Description Region: Western Europe Country: UK Location: London Total Budget: $40,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment This project is a Global Grant Scholarship to enable our candidate to pursue a Master's degree in Health and International Development at the University College London. The overall needs being addressed are worldwide disease prevention and treatment, particularly in developing countries. The anticipated timeline is as follows: July 2021 - Candidate completes her 2nd year of medical school at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX September 2021 - Candidate begins her Master degree studies at UCL under this Global Grant September 2022 - Candidate completes her Masters degree at UCL under this Global Grant Fall 2022 - Candidate returns for her 3rd and final year of medical school 2023 - Candidate completes medical school The project funds will be used to pay for books, room and board and tuition at UCL. Host club members will host Candidate at club meetings, introduce her to other Rotary Scholars, and be available for support and encouragement. International club members will communicate with her regarding progress, and will schedule her to attend and speak at club and district events when she returns. She has met with her Host Club Coordinator in London, Mr. Fran Holmes. 2-Feb-23 by Jon Bullock The scholar has completed all her classes at UCL and is back in the US, resuming her rotations in medical school. She is still working on her dissertation, and plans to submit it in the spring of 2023.
