Dear President,

Subject: Request for Support in Funding Reusable Pads for Schools in Mpigi District

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. On behalf of the Rotary Club of Katende, I am writing to seek your esteemed support for a vital initiative aimed at improving the educational experience of girls in Mpigi District. We are launching a project to provide reusable menstrual pads to 12 schools in the district, addressing a significant barrier that many girls face-absenteeism due to lack of menstrual hygiene products.

The challenge of menstruation-related absenteeism is a pressing issue in our community. Many girls miss school during their menstrual periods because their families cannot afford sanitary products. This not only affects their education but also has long-term repercussions on their academic and personal development. By providing reusable pads, we aim to ensure that these young women can attend school consistently, thereby fostering an environment of equal opportunity and support for their education.

To make this initiative a reality, we are seeking financial support from matching grant organizations. Specifically, we need funding to cover the costs of producing and distributing high-quality reusable pads to the 12 selected schools. The total funding required for this project is [total $35000 ), which will be allocated as follows:

Production of Reusable Pads: $22000

Distribution and Training: $ 5500

Program Monitoring and Evaluation: $ 7500

We firmly believe that your organization's support could significantly impact this project's success. With your help, we can provide these essential resources to the girls in Mpigi District, ensuring they remain in school and continue their education without interruption.

We would be honored to discuss this proposal in more detail and explore how we might collaborate to achieve this goal. Please feel free to contact me directly at (email:rotaryclubkatende@gmail.com OR mobile with WATS:+256754405637 with WATS ) to schedule a meeting or if you require further information.

Thank you very much for considering our request. We look forward to the possibility of working together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young women.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
