cancer detection in majority of the cases in India is at advanced stage, which is near fatal. most of the rural women are hesitant to talk about their health issues unless they are in severe pain. By the time they realize that they have serious problem it is in advanced stage. that's why cancer awareness and screening needs to be done for all rural women across India. Various clubs in India successfully launched these buses with very good impact of early stage cancer detection and saving lives.
In patna there is an excellent cancer hospital run by Bagavan mahaveer trust with nominal cost / free cancer treatment. they are excited to work with rotary on this initiative so that they can help in saving lives.
rotary club in Hyderabad has a very good case study where it launched this bus in partnership with Government cancer hospital where they were able to conduct 500 cancer screening camps, screened 75000 people and saved 500 women with early stage cancer detection. so this project is proven in India.
