Shri SiddiVinayak Hospital of Jamkhandi led by Dr Vijay Maitri has approached one of our members for seeking help for ambulance well equipped to ease movement of patients from nearby villages during emergencies to and from referral hospitals.
There are many private ambulances which charges heavily from the patients and some of them belonging to the lowest state could not afford to get the same and as a result the casualties occurred..With this mobile ambulance we propose to help such community with the minimum charges( enough to pay for the fuel and driver charges only) and in some cases it will be free for those who cannot afford and such charges will be paid by our Club or hospital management. The project funds will be used to buy the Ambulance which will be fully equipped with oxygen cylinders and other necessary equipment. Members of Rotary Club Ramteerth have carried out several advocacy projects on safe health and hygiene practices to this facility, and intends to commit volunteer hours to training the medics that will use the ambulance, and there is also an understanding between the hospital management and the RC that unscheduled inspections can be carried out at the convenience of our Club to ensure maintenance and proper usage. The hospital management has agreed to take care about the maintenance of ambulance.
There are around 50 villages which are nearby to Jamkhandi and this ambulance will help more than 300000 people of Jamkhandi city, Rabkavi-Banhatti and nearby villages.
The members of Rotary Club Ramteerth will oversee the project in all the possible ways. The ambulance will be purchased as soon as the grant funds will be received.
