Why did you choose to partner with this organization and what will its role be?

Shekinah Foundation

Created 25 years ago, located in the city of Manta, Manabí province, its corporate purpose as a non-governmental entity is to preserve vulnerable rights and restore the rights of boys, girls, adolescents at risk, it houses minors in a vulnerable state.

Shekinah Foundation partner organization will assist in gathering the information. The workshop is located in its own building

* Training program in productive skills of textile manufacturing of uniforms for the fish packing companies that exist in Manta

How did your project team identify these needs.

Interview. - to the Directors of the Shekinah Foundation

Actives' inventory. - They have 7 sewing machines: 5 domestic straight machines, 1 industrial straight machine and 1 domestic overlock machine.

Since 2019, they have 15 young people with sewing skills, who received intensive training from a group of volunteer women from the Church of Missouri, made sets of sheets, cloth curtains for the bathroom, shorts, blouses and backpacks.

How were members of the benefiting community involved in finding solutions.

The participation of local community members in the planning of the project was as follows

1. They came with information about your needs.

2. They are ready to sign a memorandum of agreement to promise to attend the trainings.

3. They are ready to sign a loan contract for after 1 year of monitoring and control, to receive the assets of the property.

4. They commit to being present at all trainings for the benefit of their business.

The project includes training modules with topics of: Basic theoretical training of the communal organization (Leadership), Initiation and accounting procedure, Sales Marketing, Development of skills and effective negotiation skills, Organization and sales department, Making a difference and winning satisfied customers, entrepreneurial motivation for the benefit of the company.

Needs were identified through the application of the Needs Assessment Format in work meetings in the month of September and October 2021

Certificates will be delivered qualifying them as artisans. The Rotary Club of Manta, has an alliance with the Federation of Craftsmen of the town

The equipment will be purchased in local warehouses, in this way we will guarantee the maintenance of the sewing machines, industrial cutters, industrial plates and furniture that must be purchased from suppliers in the city of Manta

The Rotary team of the projects committee and the Shekinah Foundation board will analyze the cotozaciones that meet the parameters of quality, price and guarantee of the equipment or supplies.

WHO WILL OPERATE THE MACHINES?

The machines will be operated by the youth of the Shekinah Foundation.

The same young people with the support of the foundation will maintain the equipment of the sewing workshop.
