Mobile Eye Clinic

$75,000

This matching grant project aims to equip a mobile eye clinic that will provide high-quality eye care to underserved populations - partucularly children and the elderly - who lack access to health care as a result of finances, transportation problems or cultural barriers. The mobile eye clinic will make weekly visits to various community locations in Istanbul, including public schools, free clinics, social services agencies working with abused and foster children, low-income families and the homeless. The clinic staff will perform basic eye examinations to determine the need for prescriptive lenses and to rule out the need for further treatment of any eye condition or disease. The estimated length of time needed to build the mobile clinic is two months.
