Northern Ghana Clean Water

$149,700

The clean water competitive matching grant #65414 for the Northern, Brong Ahafo, and Upper East Regions of Ghana will provide wells, water purification systems, and city mechanized water systems to cities and towns. The grant goal is to provide clean and safe water to reduce outbreak of the Guinea Worm parasite and blindness caused by Trachoma.” This grant also builds on the knowledge learned from Rotary MG#63415 and MG#56993. Our joint goal is to eliminate the Guinea Worm by 2010!

The Matching Grant application number from TRF is #65414.

The TRF Staff in charge of this grant is Kate Stewart (Katherine.Stewart@rotary.org).

We have repaired many boreholes and wells with the funds. We are also in the process of digging hand dug wells around Bolgatanga. We completed the grant in April 2009.

We have repaired many boreholes and wells with the funds. We are also in the process of digging hand dug wells around Bolgatanga. We hope to submit an interim report in February 2009 and get the second payment from the Rotary Foundation. We are hoping for a completion by the end of 2009.
