cancer at the ElTalaba Hospital for School Students. This hospital serves children ages between one day to 16 years of age from four different governorates, including Alexandria, Behira, Matruh and Kafr El-Sheikh. The hospital has a capacity of 330 beds and operates on an average of 6000 children suffering from cancer/year. This apparatus decreases operation hours, and complements laparoscopy. It assists the surgeon in only amputating the tumor and not the entire organ and is a life saver as it stops bleeding immediately. This hospital is a governmental hospital serving the poor and the needy and they have no budget to purchase such valuable equipment. The surgeons of the hospital were able to collect LE 80,000 through fundraising but are still in dire need of LE 120,000, which they failed to collect to date. This project will take place in a governmental hospital with no sufficient funds for offering good medical service to the poor public. This apparatus will help saving the life of approximately 6000 school children a year suffering from cancer and has no means for better medical treatment. |
