This project is divided into four parts and focuses on fighting population growth, health awareness for women, maternal and child healthcare, and nutrition education to help women to cook a cheap balanced diet to their families. The project is as follows:
(1) Population Project: The average size of families in Ezbet Sekina is 8 people with a monthly income less than $18. We plan to assign a physician to give 24 sessions each session will have an average attendance of 80 women. The sessions will include audio visual aids and will distribute birth control pills at the end of each session.
(2) Maternal and Child Health: 12 sessions, each session will have an average attendance of 30 mothers. The session will teach mothers maternal and child healthcare, such as how to give a baby a bath, vaccines, and the importance of breast feeding. Baby solid food would be distributed on mothers after completing the session to attract attendance.
(3) Women's' Healthcare: Each week 10 women (average age 45-60) will be clinically examined and will do a mammogram. This will run for 52 weeks and will serve 520 women of Ezbet Sekina.
(4) Nutrition Education: Anemia and malnutrition in Egypt is on the rise, children faint in schools because of that cause. We plan to offer the women of Ezbet Sekina "Nutrition Education" sessions and teach them how to cook a cheap balanced diet to feed their children and family and help raise healthy children. We will offer 20 sessions, each session will teach approximately 30 women. |
