School Bus for Special Childre

$20,721

Description of Community: Asha Deep Special School is a School for the Intellectually Disabled Children. It is located at Headland Sada, Mormugao, Goa and has about 140 students from Mormugao Taluka (20 kms radius). The School is run by an independent Trust and has been serving the Community for over a decade.

Description of Project: Almost half the students use public transport to come to school. This causes great hardship both to them as well as their parents. By having a dedicated School Bus about 70 to 80 students (in 2 trips) will reach the school comfortably.

Community Participation: Rotary Club of Vasco da gama through WCS and/or a Matching Grants project provide for the FULL cost of the School Bus. The School Authorities will bear the operational and maintenance cost for the School bus, by charging a reasonable fee from the students using the bus. The project will self-sustain after the bus is provided.
