The purpose of the project:
This equipment (RETİNOMAX SERİES 2K PLUS) enables assessment of visual refraction defects from a distance of 40 cm in infants and toddlers by both monocular and binocular measurements.
The measurements are performed automatically and provides measurements of pupil diameter, interpupillary distance, and corneal slope radius in addition to the assessment of visual accuracy.
This portable and battery-operated device can be easily utilized in population screening in the rural area and mountain villages and for immobile patients when transportation is difficult. Given the large population who can benefit from it in improving eye health,
this device is extremely cost-effective.
In particular, many preschool children may be screened in a relatively short time for the early diagnosis of ambliopia (eye laziness).
Keratometric measurement is essential to determine the appropriate lens to be placed in the eyes of children who need a cataract operation. This selection can be easily made with the aid of this instrument.
MEASUREMENT WITHOUT CYCLOPLEGIA: Completely automatic measurement in the babies excludes the necessity to use any eye drops to dilate the pupils.
PATIENT DOCUMENTATION: Documentation for patient records is provided.
PRACTICALLITY: Medical and paramedical personnel can easily use the equipment.
Cost: This equipment costs $17,000. We propose to pay $5,700 as the Yesil Rotary Club and look for another club to match this amount. |
