 Ginebra is a town with a high degree of poverty, there are no offers important jobs. There are a lot of elderly social strata of 0, 1 and 2, in a position of vulnerability hygienic and health, and have a high degree of physical, psychological and social, many of them can say they're virtually abandoned its luck. For seniors there are no plans for official aid. Fifteen of them are being cared for free in a house that lacks the minimum conditions of space, with little sanitation, diet and medical services of poor quality and without any entertainment.
The Foundation Casa del adulto mayor of Ginebrea,(Elderly House of Ginebra) is a non-profit institutions, acting legally registered under the number 1968 in the chamber of commerce of Buga formed by a group of volunteers, who seek only solve the problem of the indigent elderly community.
The elderly house we are proposing and for which we are working is an unmet need in our community, old age is an age that depending on the circumstances, can be complicated, full of need and loneliness, or on the contrary full of satisfactions and company. Our goal is to provide needy grandparents, a right place to live and get balanced nutrition, medical consultation, medicines, special care for the elderly, entertainment and most importantly human warmth.
In the town there are about eighty grandparents who are experiencing needs, some of them sleep on sidewalks, are being discarded by society who have no where to turn for solutions to their problems. The Foundation “Home for the elderly of Ginebra”, has within its projects to increase the number of elderly who receive free care from fifteen to thirty within two years, to achieve our mission is necessary to buy several elements like beds, especially bed for nursing, wheelchairs, clothing, stretchers and medical equipment first-aid to provide comfort, hygiene and health.
