The NGO is paying all hard and administrative cost. Chilapa is located in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. The rural area to be served has a population of approximately 120,000 extremely poor people. When the program becomes self-sufficient, anticipated in 3/5 years, it is projected that there will be 4000 borrowers and a total of 20,000 family members whose lives will be positively impacted. Project listed for the 2008-09 Rotary Year. The Matching Grant application number from TRF is #69595. The TRF Staff in charge of this grant is Lauren Marquez (lauren.marquez@rotary.org). We have approximately 49,000 of the club funds needed to complete this project. We have all of the DDF requested. I multiple donor form will be completed when funding is submitted with copies of the checks. <4-Feb-09> System Entry Grant paperwork sent to The Rotary Foundation. <9-Feb-09> by Susan Thorning Lauren Marquez notified committee that a matching grants number 69595 has been assigned. Please use this in all future correspondence with TRF staff. <10-Mar-09> System Entry Grant approved by The Rotary Foundation. <26-May-09> by Susan Thorning Lauren.Marquez@rotary.org emailed that all payments have been received and the grant funding will be distributed in 2 to 4 weeks. <4-Dec-09> by Kenny Jones The program now has 1733 borrowers, a portfolio at risk of .03%, and total loan portfolio of $227,000. The project became self-sufficient two months ago. A fourth loan officer was hired in September. The NGO is now looking at expanding into a second area outside Chilapa. <9-Feb-10> by Kenny Jones As of the end of January 2010 there are 1900 borrowers, five loan officers, and approximately $175,000 in outstanding loans. The default rate continues at 0%.
