Vision/Blindness Prevention

This project, in the Navsari & Surat Districts of Gujarat, India, includes services for helping prevent avoidable blindness in the local low income population. The project total includes the cost for 560 Cataract surgeries @ $47 per surgery and 2,252 pairs of spectacles @ $2.22 each, for refractive error correction. Till date, 10 organized free eye camps have been organised in the interior parts of Southern Gujarat. In which, total 2,979 patients have been screened . Out of which, 389 patients were operated for Cataract surgery free of cost. 1,210 patients were distributed glasses for refractive error correction.
