   El Salvador - Usulután

Adult Vocational Training

$22,714

More than 40% of the El Salvador population is below poverty level and more than 28% are between the ages of 16 and 29 and there is an immediate need for providing vocational training of various trades such as basic, intermediate & advance computing, bakery, cosmetology, cooking, pastry making etc, to lift them up from the poverty levels and provide gainful employment. The purpose of this project is to offer 7 courses and provide practical training for at least 140 men & women in Usulután. Students will be transported to actual businesses in the area to receive hand-on practical training. This project will fund teaching the needed courses including providing hands-on practical training. It is planned to complete the project in about one year from the date the funds are received. This project will neither fund training of the teachers nor any continuing education programs of the school. The intended beneficiary will be the Usulután school.

GRANT DESCRIPTION - Description implies a continuation and completion of an existing project. The courses are new. You may wish to revise this language as Rotary does not fund continuing projects.
BUDGET ISSUES
- Instructor fees and administration expenses may be questioned unless you can show that you are hiring special instructors for these classes and require temporary administration of the pilot project.
- A bid outlining expenses and suppliers should be submitted with your proposal
