Potable Drinking Water Supply

$10,000

There is an acute shortage of Potable Drinking Water in elementary and middle schools in the rural areas around Bangalore City in Karnataka State and about 1500 to 2000 children are affected. The schools cannot currently afford the expensive filtration to provide the badly needed drinking water to the students. It is proposed to distribute 87 Pureflow filter units to about 15 to 20 schools to help them provide clean drinking water that will greatly benefit the young students. The units will be installed by the respective schools out of their own funds and grant funds will not be used for this purpose. The beneficiaries are the schools that receive the units. The project is intended to be completed in 12 months from the date the funds are received.
