   Mexico - Tijuana

Dialysis for diabetics

$32,495

The Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks California is teaming up with the Rotary Club of Tijuana Mexico to purchase medical equipment to treat underprivileged people in the Tijuana area for the testing and treatment of people for kidney failure caused by diabetes. This will be done by the Patronato Foundation, a non-profit organization in Tijuana Mexico (operating out of the general hospital of Tijuana). The monies to pay for the treatment will be paid by the state of Baja California Mexico at no charge to the patients. Without this updated equipment, the underprivileged people of Tijuana will not be able to receive this treatment. Also, with this equipment, the Patronato Foundation will be able to expand the amount of people that they will be able to treat at this time. After Rotary international funds this project, the project will take between 8 and 12 months to complete.
