Engaging Youth

$35,000

The primary objective is equip the youth in the slums with entrepreneurship skills and also provide them with group capital to start up income venture to sustain them and their families. Young people all over the world are disadvantaged when it comes to getting loans to start or expand an income generating project. The need to engage the youth and pool them out of social misery they find themselves is never agent as it is now. This project will address: 1) Lack of capital to inject into youth enterprise; 2) High interest rate that inhibits youths borrowing; 3) Addressing issues that drive the youths into drugs, desperation and all those that inhibits youth creativity.

The grant would support small businesses; building their skills in basic book keeping; boosting businesses of those who would want to expand; mentorship program for the youth that engage them to act positively and act responsibly. The main aim of this grant is to act as a revolving fund that will act as a feeder fund to other youth initiatives, mainly from those in the slums.
