Nyamateke Primary School

The grant will provide a water well, water tanks, hand washing stations, latrines, classroom desks, text books and hygine training for a Nyamateke Primary School which has over 1200 students. Nyamateke School is in Nyarubuye Sector in Kirehe District 65 miles Southwest of Kigali, Rwanda.The project will benefit the students, teachers and the surrounding community. This school will become the center for the adopt a village five point program.

The project had four main componens;
1. Provision of Text books to NYAMATEKE Primary School
2. Construction of Latrines (12 DoorS- 6 for Boys and 6 for Girls) and repair of the exisisting 12 Door latrine. This also includes installing one 5000L water tanks as well as 4 hand washing stations.
3. Training of Trainers in Hygien
4. COnstruction of a water bore hole for the community.
Progress.
Component 1, 3 and 4 have been competed and component 2 is underway and planned to be completed in the next 8-10 weeks.
