   Philippines - Tanauan

PAPSMEAR for indigent women

The ROTARY CLUB OF METRO TANAUAN, RID 3820, in cooperation with the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines, Inc. –Community Health Care Clinic, Tanauan City, plans to deliver reproductive health care services to the 48 barangays of Tanauan City. Among the services to be given is PAPSMEAR, especially among high risk mothers. Papsmear is a procedure for identifying infection like STD, cervical erosion and other gynecological problems. This procedure is very much important for the early detection of cancer. This project is to be delivered to selected 2033 married women of the 48 barangays of Tanauan City, who are willing to avail of papsmear services for free. This project will be for a period of 10 months.
