School Mid-day Meal

$19,000

This proposed project is to provide a Mid Day Meal to young school children in an impoverished area of India to provide greatly needed proper nutrition and to induce their parents to allow them to attend school. Most children do not go to school due to poverty, and many are required to tend house, graze animals, or work collecting fodder, wood, and other items to sell to support their families. The least fortunate children are frequently sold into bondage, sometimes for the price of a dove at the market. The school aims to not only provide education, but also improve their health through a MID DAY MEAL, which will help meet their daily dietary requirements and create a better learning environment. A hungry child doesn't learn well.
