Job Creation for Youth

$23,600

This Economic Development and poverty reduction project intends to create jobs for youth ages 18-30. 1,000 youth in each of two cities will be taught basic business principles and how to write individual business plans based on their own ideas. A Vocational Training Team of 3 experts will be sent from Altadena, California to collaborate with Nigerian business instructors and Rotarians in a week-long intensive course in each city. Rotarians will judge the business plans as to viability and further consideration for micro-finance. The goal is for 1 in 5 to actually start a business some day that will create jobs for an average of 4 others, thus eventually 1,000 jobs in each location.
