   Ecuador - Gualaceo

Computer Labs

$12,825

Gualaceo Rotary Computer Laboratory Project calls for the establishment of computer labs in three public schools (intermediate/high schools) in the province of Azuay (Southern Ecuador). Each school would be equipped with 7 computers plus other accessories. Ecuador is in a national campaign to encourage school districts to become computer literate and to use computer to link with other parts of the country and world and to provide technology training for teachers. The Ministry of Public Education encourages schools to seek funding assistance from various organizations. Estimated total costs for the three labs is $12,000. Gualaceo Rotary will put up $3,000 ($1,000 for each school). With additional support from District 5340 Designated Funds and The Rotary Foundation, Rotary club(s) would have to come up with about $2,000 to $2,500 to add up to the $12,000 for the Project. The paperwork for the Matching Grant has been prepared and signed off by the Gualaceo Rotary Club and now awaits a participating club(s) from District 5340.
