Job Creation for Youth

$25,000

The Economic Development and poverty reduction project, is an on-going project aimed at creating jobs for youth ageas 18 - 30. 1000 youth in each of the two cities will be taught basic business principles and how to write individual business plans based on their own ideas.A Vocational team of 5 experts will be sent form Altadena and rancho Cucamonga to collaborate with Nigerian business instructors and Rotarians for a week-long intensive training in each city. The success of the job creation training for 1870 students in Owerri and Kaduna on January 3-13, 2011 and 770 business plans submitted by students provides a compelling evidence to continue the project. The goal is for 1 out of 5 to actually start a business someday that will create jobs for an average of 4 others, thus eventually creating 1,000 jobs in each location.
