	D-240    Mexico - Tijuana Handicapped Equipment $50,000 This project is a project of Serving Hands International To offer a better quality of life for persons with disabilities and family members by offering a specialized attention with specialized personnel and facilities. This grant will purchase the equipment for the Snoozly area, Playground, and Ball Pool. This project will benefit over 120,000 families in Tijuana, Tecate, Rosarito and Ensenada, that have at least one family member with a disability. The Rotary Club of Tijuana Independencia and Torrey Pines have been working closely with the DIF staff to determine how they can help in this critical situation. They have met many times and put together this application. See on the right the press conference where we gave the $50,000 check to the wife of the Governor of Baja California. Sent to TRF on Dec 2, 2004. Came back because of a missing report. Sent again to TRF on March 14, 2005 with the missing report. Lela Hutchinson acknowledged receipt of the email on March 16, 2005. <9-Sep-05> by Philippe Lamoise Signed agreement, Torrey Pines contribution, and bank account payment information was sent to The Rotary Foundation. <31-Oct-05> by Philippe Lamoise Spoke to Kem Miller on the phone and he confirmed that the $26,000 contribution from Torrey Pines has been recorded. Still missing the $2,000 from Tijuana Independencia. <5-Jan-06> by Philippe Lamoise Email sent to Mireya Dominguez to explain the Rotarian participation on this project. This should be the last requirement to have the payment processed. <5-Jan-06> by Philippe Lamoise Payment is being processed by TRF.
