This project is a project of Mobilizing Rotary for Microcredit

The main objective of this two-year project (April 2005 to March 2007) is to improve the quality of life of 120 families giving them the opportunity to have their own small business. They will receive an average loan of $150. The main components are to acquire knowledge of their desired entrepreneurship, accounting practices, customesr service, a culture of loan payments, good health, and basic education for the participating families.

The project will benefit up to 480 persons considering that an average Ecuadorean family has 4.5 members. Each family member will have the opportunity to learn the business, accounts, customer service, how to resolve problems, how to maintain good health, and pursue basic education for all family members.

The project will be organized and supervised by a committee formed by members of Rotary Club Guayaquil Cerro Azul with some visits from the Rotary Club La Mesa Sunrise, Lemon Grove, and Mission Bay Rotary and constant Internet communication as to the progress of the project. Furthermore, we will provide reports about the participating village banks and their performance during the life of the project.
