The improvement in the treatments of the affections associated to the syndrome of Down and other’s, the hope has increased of to improve the quality of the children's life that you/they suffer this pathology, to the point that these people can carry out simple works and to reach very effective levels of efficiency, usually incorporating to the society.

In Chone a place doesn't exist for the treatment of the children that you/they suffer of the Syndrome of Down and other’s, alone there is the school TOGETHER for special children we will CONQUER where areas exist to create a room of early stimulation, a room will be conditioned with the personnel, teams and appropriate implements and effective treatment of these children, because, the key to make grow the sensorial roads is the EARLY STIMULATION, when the stimulation begins it in the first years of life, the physical and psychological characteristics of this syndrome can end up disappearing percentage on high, and to be able to incorporate them from an effective way to the society.

The objectives of the project are the following ones:

1. to endow of a room of early stimulation for the children that suffer of Syndrome Down and other’s to the city of Chone and rural zone

2. Early stimulation to the senses of these children, so that they can develop their psychological and motive properties satisfactorily

3. to incorporate them to the society and that they are usually unwrapped as all the people

4. to improve the condition of these children's life, so that the doesn't look him at them like a social load in our country

Benefitted people's number:

to. Directly 200 children will be benefitted between 1 and 10 years of age

b. Indirectly 500 families will be benefitted (2500 inhabitants) of the rural and urban sector

How was organized and did supervise the project?:

The project will be carried out for stages, beginning with the adaptation of the room, and culminating with the equipment and implementation of the local for the beginning of the work of the therapists

Once culminated the work, this will give it to the committee of parents of family of the school

The implementation, administration and maintenance of the work will be supervised by the Rotary Club of Chone, by means of monitors, pursuit of the execution of objectives and periodic meetings with the committee of parents of family of the school

He will have the personnel specialized in the technical area of the project.

That it forms does it participate the rotary club in the project?

The Rotary Club Chone participates in the elaboration in the studies, design, implementation and inspection of the execution of the project with the technical support of members of the club with wide knowledge on the topic

Rotarian Frank Capin, R.C. of Fallbrook and Rotarian Russ Hanthorn, R.C. of Carlsbad, are traveling to Chone, Ecuador in March 2007 to check on the status of MG D-260. A report will be submitted upon their return.

Rotarians Frank Capin and Russ Hanthorn recently visited Chone, Ecuador and the D-260 MG site. The Chone club has purchased a portion of the stimulation equipment for the down syndrome children and will complete the purchase of the equipment within the next few months.

The Chone Club was contacted on Oct. 6, 2007 and encouraged to finalize the purchase of the equipment for the Stimulation Room and submit the appropriate paperwork to complete the project.
