Village Water Supply

$13,114

The purpose of this project is to supply water to several very poor villages in the altiplano of Bolivia. This will meet the needs of 37 families in the community by improving health indicators, and will be achieved by piping safe water to each house. It will save many hours of carrying water, a task usually done by girls. In some villages this will involve building 25 wells with pumps. In addition a health worker will be provided to visit every house and give training on hygiene, the use of safe water, dental care, prevention of diarrhea, symptoms of intestinal parasitic infection and how to deal with these.
