Village Water Supply Project

Rotary Club of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, began village water projects in 1999. In cooperation with local communities and administration with financial support from Rotary Clubs of Svalov, Sweden and own Rotary Club of Bishkek contribution, and Soros foundation were Constructed water pipeline and catchment chambers in Madaniyat, Tosh, Kosh-Korgon, Kara-Dobo and Iskra in Chui region www.rotarywater.org/projects/rotary_bishkek.php. Project in Year 2006 will be targeted on the construction water supply systems for Shamsi, Kosh-Kashat, Kairma, Onbirjylga, Progress, Kosh-Korgon, Kara-Dobo, Sadovoe, Sailyk, Shon-Jar, Karagul villages of Chui region (Shamsi, Onbirjylga and Kosh-Korgon local administrations) in Northern Kyrgyzstan just to the east of the capital city of Bishkek. These water supply systems will provide clean water to 15000 people.

We have collected sufficient funds for this projects (including District SHARE funds and requiring TRF Matching grant).
The Matching grant application has been submitted on Mar-31. And we are looking for the decision of TRF.

Rotary Club of Bishkek will recommence works after winter – in early spring next year.

Work on this project is underway. The second phase of repair to the collection station and pipeline will begin by the end of August. An interim report has been repaired and will be distributed during week of 20 August.
