Cataract Operations

Eye Cataract operations will be performed on people with no social security, insurance or very low income. Amount of operations (eyes):25

1.-Calafia de Mexicali RC will contact radio and newspapers for local announcement of our project to the comunity.

2.-A social-economic evaluation will be conducted to all posible candidates who apply for the project.

3.-Basic laboratory evaluations will be done to all who are approved to receive this operation.

4.-After having the lab results, the doctor in charge Marco Barrera, will schedule the operation for the approved patient.

5.-Operation is performed.

6.-After the operation, a new appointment will be given to the patient for follow up evaluation.

7.-All organization will be supervised by Dr. Marco Barrera, who is in charge of the project.

In what form will the member of the RC participate in this project?

There will be a club member assigned to be coordinator of the project. All club members will participate in the socio-economic survey of each person soliciting this operation. All participating Rotarians will help with moral support during the day of the operation and during recovery.
