Rotary Free Dispensary and Laboratory

Women and Child Health Care Centre

At this time Rotary Club Sargodha is running dispensary. Now we want to provide the lab facility to our patients. We have a large population of women in this area. We want to focus this large population of mother and their child health problems. For this purpose Rotary Club Sargodha request for the grant, whether in the shape of equipment for lab and dispensary or in the shape of cash.

1. Project Name: Rotary Free Lab & Dispensary.

2. Project Location: Canal Park, College Road, Sargodha.

3. Brief Description of Current Situation:

At present we have covered area of more than 3000 Sq. feet. Consisting in:

- Two rooms with attached bathroom for doctor and lady doctor.

- Dispenser’s room.

- Patient Lobby.

- One delivery room.

- Two beds with attached bathroom.

This construction is A-one with wooden cupboard, aluminum doors.

Project Scope of Work:

a. Project Objective: To provide basic health facilities to the needy people of the area.

b. Project Description: Free medicines and medical assistantance provided to the needy people. They properly enrolled and advised for repeated checkup.

Here different camps organized such as:

- Diabetic protection camp

- Eye Camp

- Heart care awareness camp

- Weight reducing camp

- Hepatitis and polio eradication awareness and vaccination camp

c. Project Implementation: On 14th August 2002 said project was launched. Until now 1200 patients have been listed. Rs. 1550 US$ for medicines has been spent on purchase of free medicine for needy people. Two trained doctors are serving here. Lady doctor visits hours are from 9am to 1 pm. In the evening mail doctor provide services from 5pm to 10pm.

5-Financial Budget:

a. Primarily project costing was 3.5 Million Pak Rs. (60000 US$) for the construction of building, furniture and equipment.

b. Funding Participants. This project is totally contributory project of the Rotarian of rotary club Sargodha. One dedicated member donated a land for this project. Until now Rs. 2 million (3500 US$) has been spent on construction of dispensary and equipments.

c. Cash Flow Statement: To meet the day to day expenses Rs. 5 is being charged as slip fee from the patients. On an average basis more than 80 patients visited our dispensary daily. Every member pays more than Rs 1000 per month to meet the day-to-day administrative expenses. For your ready reference below is the cash flow statement. (Monthly):

Contribution of 35 Members: Rs. 48000/- (827$)

Received from patients (Slip Fee) Rs. 7800/- (135$)

Other donations Rs. 50000/- (880$)

Total Receiving Per Month = 1842 US$

Salaries Rs. 45000/- (775$)

Utility Bills Rs. 20000/- (345$)

Medicines Rs. 40000/- (690$)

Others Rs. 5000/- (86 $)

Total Expenditure Per Month =1896 US $

6-Results Expected:

Basically this is a primary health unit provide basic treatment, in order to get better results a full fledge laboratory is required. At present this free dispensary is providing basic health facility to the poor and needy people of the area and providing awareness and treatment for population control, polio, hepatitis, sugar and heart diseases. The results are very encouraging; the numbers of patients are increasing day by day. We are optimistic if we can provide modern test laboratory for the needy patient would be a great service to the needy and under privilege of the area.

We already have constructed the space for lab, now we need equipment only. Total Costing is:

1- Micro Lab (Chemistry Analyzer) 6900 US $

2- Incubator 200 US $

3- Colvimeter 250 US $

4- Microscope 900 US $

5- Fridge 400 US $

6- Computer & Printer 1400 US $

7- Others (KITS) 500 US $

8- Literature for Population Planning 400$

Total 10950 US $

We have spent 1500$ already for lab building construction and we will also contribute more 2000$ for further expenditures.
