	D-788    Turkey - Didim 6 Hemodialysis Chairs $20,375 Didim is a fast growing nice little town at the Aegean Coast situated between İzmir and Bodrum in the province of Aydın. Its famous Altinkum Beach, the Apollon-Temple - one of the best conserved excavation in Turkey and the nearby located important ancient cities Milet and Priene let become Didim a demanded holiday resort. Didim has 40.000 inhabitants. The State Hospital has been founded in 2001. It has a capacity of 50 beds and operates with 20 doctors.The hemodialysis centre operates with 6 dialysis units and 5 chairs,whereby these chairs are simple chairs and not appropriate for dialysis treatment. These chairs can not vertical positioned and this is why blood-flow problems accur.In case of complications the patients can not be treated further on these chairs and had to be put in other beds. At the time beeing 10 ambulant patients can be served per day. As there is a growing demand for the hemodialysis all other patients had to be sent to the 55 km afar SÖke or to the 85 km afar Kuşadasi.This is why Didim Rotarians decided to raise the capacity of the hemodialysis centre up to 18 patients per day by sponsoring 6 hemodialysis chairs. These new high-tec chairs addtionally allow more comfortable and effective treament as they can be put in severel positıons and require 40% less space than a normal hospital bed.The responsible doctor of hemodialysis centre is member of our Club.
