Rotary Eye Care

$48,000

The grant budget will be used to buy a Fundus Camera used to detect retinal problems among diabetic and hypertensive patients and a Green Laser to treat Diabetic Retinopathy which if not treated leads to Permanent Blindness. The project will take place in a charitable hospital at Ludhiana, Punjab,India which is already supported by Rotary through various other projects.The community at large will be benefitted especially the poor who are unable to get this diagnose and treatment at private hospitals which are charging very high and is out of the reach of the poor.

Due to the fluctuations of the exchange rate, the price of the equipment has gone up. Julia Clark has authorized us to have the hospital cover the shortfall, provided the money transits through the project account.
